Why doesn’t God heal everyone?

On April 30, 2019, there was a shooting in a UNC Charlotte classroom. Two people died and four were injured. The following semester Dr. Frank Turek and Dr. Rice Broocks to reach the hurting students and answer their questions. One student brought a challenge from atheist Sam Harris: why would God heal some people but not thousands of others? He supposedly heals someone’s back, but thousands of children die? How is that loving? Frank Turek and Rice Broocks respond.

I came to know GOD, when I was almost dying with pneumonia. Some of us are to stubborn to seek God... only when their world is falling apart, they do . That’s my testimony

If we don’t get healed here on earth, we will be healed in heaven. There will be no more pain or suffering. That is something to look forward to.

I had scoliosis when I was a child. Something that is supposed to be incurable. At least to my knowledge and God healed me.

In a way I feel like God saved my soul by not healing or shielding me from lifelong disease. Every day sucks and I'd never wish it on anyone but I know I would much rather suffer here than without my Father for eternity. Some of us, me, need to be cut down to change. Bless you all!

I am asthmatic. God has taught me much through the pain it has brought me - made it very clear to me that pretending to be in control when I'm not is just going to cause more problems.

You need others. And sometimes the suffering you go through can be used as a shelter for others when they need you.

God's plan for your life doesn't necessarily mean your life will be comfortable. But He does have what's best in mind: and when He bestows grace upon someone, they did not deserve it. Any kindness I have received from Him is not merited, but grace.

Thing is, that only happened once - and He volunteered."

Man frank, you have a gift, sometimes I’m like “wow this might be a hard one” and you make it look easy. Amazing

I had an abusive father, and it was because of the pain I first came to saving faith. I battled with serious eczema for majority of my life that didn’t respond to any conventional medical treatment and because of it I learned to lean on God. I recently had a miscarriage and through the tears I felt the profound peace for real from God for the first time in my life. I’ve seen God during the good times, but it’s during the seasons of pain and waiting and suffering that He really makes his presence known.

When my dad was dying, God revealed to my mom that whether he died or was healed on earth, he would be healed. And going to Heaven would be a far greater healing than anything here.

Oh wow! I am a pediatric nurse for 17 years. Seen both miracles and tragedies. I've seen much. I remember coming home one day after a tragic long shift. I went into the shower on my knees and just wept at the suffering I had just witnessed. I boldly dared asked God why. Why do some get healing miracles which clearly happen that I've seen and some do not. As I was in the shower floor with my head bowed a thought came to my mind. I suddenly remembered Moses at the burning bush when God told him to put his hand in his coat and take it out. When Moses did that his hand was diseased then God said do it again. Moses hand was healed. The conclusion I got from that is God is God and we are not.

My girlfriend was adopted from Russia when she was 10 years old. Living in a Russian orphanage the living conditions were so terrible she got on her knees and prayed to god to get her out and save her. A very short time later she was adopted to America as one of the last children Russia allowed to be adopted. (They no longer allow adoptions to the US). She and I both believe God saved her after she prayed to be saved. She may not be alive today if she had not turned to God. God does answer prayer.

If you have not lost someone after praying persitently and crying your heart out to God, please be sensitive in your comments. If my loved ones were not healed, don’t give the connotation that we did not seek God..for your information my husband and myself lost both mothers to an accident even if we and the whole church prayed. 3 years after my husband lost his father to cancer after praying every hour, crying out to God, rebuking the enemy. We won’t even attempt to understand why God allowed this to happen to us. We have come to accept that He is sovereign. We leave it at that without thinking too much.

Physical healing isn't the be-all, end-all of existence. Glorifying God and trusting in him for everything we truly need is.
.
As the video says, there are many people who develop strength of character thru trials, sorrows, and loss. Personally, I have grown more when I suffer than when everything is going just perfectly.

If a cancer patient survives after medical treatment..."Praise God!"
But if a cancer patient dies..."God works in mysterious ways."

The people have to understand that God makes miracles to make people believe in him and repent, not just to have a good life here on the earth

Remember everything done is for his glory! That being said, healing or not healing can also be for that same reason. I was in a serious accident, that should of been paralyzed. God healed me only partially. If I had kept going down the road I was on, I wouldn't be a pastor today. I still can't do many things, but I can help others have strength, through my strength. I also now have many autoimmune issues too. This has gotten worst since I was little. I take around 50 pills a day, 2 shots a month, and soon an IV med every 6 months; he helps me get through all of it. But the one thing the devil can't take away is my strong faith in God and Jesus. If I hadn't gotten hurt many times over, or been sick like I am; I would not be able to help others in their faith.

Peace and grace be with you!

A sickness can be abl blessing in disguise. When people are healthy, they usually waste their health for work or night life and they have no time to think about God. But when you're sick it humbles you and helps you to think-what is this life all about? What if I die, where do I go?
This kind of questions usually come when we are in solitude with our misery

God has a will for everyone. He never promises that life will be perfect. Jesus said "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Job said "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." That should be the attitude of the believer. Knowing God is good and that we don't see and understand all things as He does. Praising God no matter the circumstances. Not selfishly only when things are going our way and turning against Him when they aren't.

Not everyone is healed through prayer because not everyone is ready to be healed. God frequently uses ailments to teach us something, or to draw us closer to Him. When God sees a purpose behind healing someone through prayer, that person will be healed. I've prayed for believers to be healed, and some were, some weren't. I've prayed for unbelievers to be healed, and some were, some weren't. It's not up to me to decide who gets healed; my job is to share the gospel when opportunities arise and to pray for people as I'm led.
