We told them for YEARS that they need more than just ship battles; we want sword fights, gun fights, treasure hunting, exploration, landlubbing downtime where you can get off the ship everyonce inawhile, deep sea salvaging, fishing, island/port pirate haven building, ultimate customization, etc ... We wanted an Assassins Creed Black Flag with no Assassins Creed and more Black Flag. What's their excuse?

The ship having a stamina bar is the most Ubisoft thing ive ever seen. I will use the fact they gave a ship a stamina bar as the example from now on.

"Where has the money gone?!"
Embezzlement. It went into embezzlement.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is pretty much the best Ubisoft game released in a decade. 0 microtransactions, no tacked on live service crap and the game feels 100% finished at launch. I wish they’d go back to making more titles like that

It didn't help that Helldivers be Helldiving

Egos are pricing this a $70, not businessmen.
Businessman would rather sell a million units at $15 than 100, 000 at $70, especially for a live service game.

Funnily enough I think calling it a AAAA game is actually appropriate, because it's not an upgrade to AAA gaming, but a twisted, sickly mutation of it. An overt parody of what AAA gaming represents.

But it’s the first AAAA game? How could it possibly be going poorly😂

Yeah, the $/£70 price point is a big thing. I haven't bought a single new game since the prices went up, it's just too expensive for me to justify.

I believe it was IGN that did a thing saying that SnB had close to a half dozen directors over the 11 yrs it was in development, each wanting to the game to be something different (one wanted it to be an arena battler, another wanted it to me more of an MMO for example). That would be the direction the game would be going until a new director was brought in then everything would be scrapped and direction changed, hence the different trailers and variations of the game announced over the yrs 🤷‍♂

For people asking why the ship has a stamina bar, it's a remnant from the old hunger bar in the alpha. As you would sail, the meter would slowly deplete, and once it ran out, the crew would mutiny. They actually had an NPC who would walk up to the wheel and scold you beforehand. It must have been unpopular, because they changed it to a stamina meter for the main release, and the crew no longer mutinies. The stamina bar also depletes much faster than the old hunger bar. But it is considered the stamina of the crew, and it is still refilled with food. The only difference is that the hunger bar would not replenish without food, whereas the stamina bar will refill if you are sailing at two-thirds speed.

I genuinely made an effort to enjoy this one; I approached it with all the positive vibes possible, but... it loses its fun after a few hours. Apologies, Ubi. Perhaps in the Black Flag remake.

If I buy a game for £25 and it's poop, I might not be too bothered and just hope it gets fixed/better. If I were to spend £70 and it's poop, I'm gonna rage on the internet and seek a refund and never trust that publisher again. Also lower prices gives you a much larger potential audience. Ubisoft is a large corporation so I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say 'too many managers' is the problem.
I heard from the first closed beta SnB was shockingly bad (in terms of gameplay and story), the second beta it somehow got worse. It boggles my mind how you can mess up a big budget pirate game, so we should at least congratulate them for that achievement.

Well, there's your problem: Not enough As! Needs way more As and should be at least twice as expensive. Quality costs, as we prostitutes say.

$30-$40 is understandable but $70 for this is insane.
The fact your ship gets tired is a turn off.
