coulou's cafe trumpet meditations (no. 37)

the lastttt of the meditations in this particular cabin. i was on the fence about posting this one because the overhead lights with the gloomy skies led to a pretty orange and grey dullish shot which im not the biggest fan of buttt i thought the music was nice. so if the cinematography isn't doing it for you i'd recommend either closing your eyes or opening up netflix and watching planet earth on mute while this plays in the background. both options seemed to work just great with this meditation. on another totally different note, i've been thinking about how relationships (friendships, partners and all that) are always bound by time and always in motion. seeing the way friends come and go in life, where at one point you had never felt closer to someone and then little by little as we change, the distance between the two starts to grow. i have a few childhood friends that im still close with, and i can say even though we've changed so much i still love them like family and can feel just as close even if i go a year without seeing them. i guess this thought im having is coming from the feeling around the "honeymoon" phase in both friendships and relationships. how interesting it is that during that phase we have such an endless supply of patience, compassion, understanding. then as time goes by those feelings can start to erode bit by bit. i understand there's probably lots of good reasons for that, but sometimes you find yourself in such a perfect place with another person. and it just breaks my heart a little knowing the feeling is still just ships passing in the night. it'll evolve, maybe into something better, definitely into something different. i know i know, so much of what makes these relationships and moments great is the impermanence of them. what would the value of anything be if not bound by time? a little in the feels today, wishing i could go back to a couple special moments with people. grateful for the beautiful times, grateful to know there are probably many more to come. all that bein said, love you all and am endlessly grateful to share this space with you. sending lots of love, hope you're all safe out there.

It makes me think of how no matter how the seasons change, no matter what dies or gets covered over out there, my love for you will stay this bright forever. And I’ll come back to this bright little box of love if things, when things change between us.
