This dynamic XLR microphone has 50's style, rugged metal body, strong internal pop filter and a very good radio like vocal presence, however it has one major design flaw that makes it hard or impossible to use with many boom arms or mic stands. Let's unbox, setup, test, and review the Shure 55SH ii.

Had this mic sitting around for about 4-5 years as I originally bought it as a photography prop when I was doing photography full time. Now that I'm streaming/podcasting I wanted to see how it sounded with a smaller setup as my main setup I have the Shure SM7B. I say all this to say your video was helpful and insightful. I did have the same issue with the thread but the stand I'm using came with a removable screw which made room for the cable. Good stuff bro👍

Solid review, great job. As a caveman without that vocal program, the percussives were unbearable for me until popping some fitted wind screen material inside the casing. Works like a charm now and clear.

I just ordered this mic a few days ago and excited to get it. I just have no clue what I need to plug it in and set it up for my PC. I had used a Blue Yeti and will continue using it for voice chat (have only been using it on PS4 since everyone I was friends with abandoned me). I wanted it for streaming (which I am still not setup for and have no clue how it will go... I make poor choices), maybe singing for music (since I keep getting instruments but doing nothing with them) and overall PC use if I ever find friends again. I do have a stand that I like that I got for my Blue Yeti that works good I just need to make sure it has the right threading, it's a cheap heavy metal base with a hollow thin short pole that screws into the base of the stand and the mic. I have nowhere for a boom arm to attach so I am sticking with what I got now (I will order another base at some point with whatever else I need to get everything working).

I got the mic for it's looks and basically everyone I watch on YouTube has a Shure mic but I am "poor" so I went with a cheaper model.

Ah I just bought a new mic arm for my Shure Super 55 mic however, I am having a hard time finding an adapter for it 😅 hopefully this will solve the issue with it connecting to the arm!

Distraction, distraction, distraction. Zoom in, zoom out, toss in some 3rd party pictures, videos, music is constantly playing. Constant stream of words, not a single second of relieve. This is a nightmare for a conscious mind. I'm outta here.
