I never thought of it before, but this is the only Home Alone film where the kid is completely on top of things. Alex never gets backed into a corner by the villains the same way Kevin and the other kids did because even when Beaupre caught him, he had one of Alex's toy guns. Alex really is the smartest kid in the series because he's the only kid who took getting caught into account when planning out his traps.

When I was a kid back in 1997, I dreamed of a Home Alone movie where Kevin and Alex become neighbors and team up against criminals. They both live in Chicago, after all.

Call me crazy, but I'd figured that Earl and Burton's HP would be slowly depleting, due to them being stuck in a frozen pool. And Alice should have next to no health on her HP due to that final fall and how her body appeared to be broken when the police apprehended her.

Clearly Alex is smarter than Kevin. Besides the original bad guys smarter than these guys except the leader. He had a back up plan in the end by switching guns and he’s not clumsy😄

To be honest, this movie is nowhere near as good at the first two, but nowhere near as bad as the fourth, fifth, and sixth movies.

Terrific movie that so so so underrated. Really unfairly too. They weren’t trying to beat the first two in the franchise they were trying to make a decent movie. Should just appreciate that. Instead of comparing and pulling things down all the time. The bad guys in this were exceptionally clever and well equipped yet Alex outsmarted them. It’s a brilliant effort. The ending was a bit flat but terrific still.

The biggest win for the kid was that he ended up breaking the baddies' streak of no chicken pox, as he was infected and contagious, and gave all four a full exposure.
