Have you tried any sports in low light, such as high school football or college soccer? I had considered the now old version of this lens, but when I rented one it was slow to focus and missed a lot. I am really hoping the G2 version lives up to its descriptions. Any hands on in this area would be appreciated.

I can't find this info anywhere, maybe you can help out. When you use this lens using a Canon and DPAF for video, can you hear the lens focusing (on the onboard mic) or is it silent? Thanks!

Hmm... talking about how VC on the lens performs at slow shutter speeds of up to 1/3sec and the images that pops up at that moment is taken at 1/3200sec :-)
