In the beginning of the video, the black and white theme is consistent as Selena talks about the challenges of being someone who has had to go to Rehab and has had to deal with Lupus. Then when Selena opens up, like a flower, the video transitions into a different shade and this is the next stage of growth where Selena expresses her vulnerability from people controlling her life to her feeling as though she can not live with liberty, and then the final stage is when the flower finally blossoms and now there is more color in life and satisfaction with overcoming your inner saboteur and choosing then to shed old skin. The end of the video ends with silhouettes to signify that the future of who you are is a mystery.

The video takes on the perspective of someone who is a victim of being put down or humiliated and feels helpless and it is to the point where they even feel like they themselves do not matter. The intention is to shed light and make people aware that how they treat others does have a large impact and can cause someone to be self destructive.
