Sicily with our friends, olive oil making and fall harvest

The fall harvest is beginning in Sicily. Roasted artichokes and chestnuts are out. We also discuss how olive oil is made and some of the products from the olive oil making process.

Laying in bed tonight listening to you guys after another amazing day in Sicily! Love the lobster pasta here especially in a cognac sause. Rented a boat and took some friends snorkeling this morning, then drove up to Santa Rosalia, and finally finished up in Piazza Marina in Palermo for dinner. Too much fun!

Great tip about being careful driving when it rains in Sicily. Also, I don't live in the NE, but friends have told me lobster rolls are going for $30 apiece this year.

Autumn in Sicily gives huge emotions more then in other seasons. Never have been you guys to collect mushrooms in Etna forest? Great experience to breath mountain air and, after half hour, getting down on the sea sniffing sea smell. By the way about oil, the best in all Sicily is made in Buccheri (provincia Siracusa). There one squizes a kind of olive named "tonda iblea". Trust me (Silvio)

I really enjoy watching your videos. Three of us are planning a trip to Italy next year in October. We are looking at Catania as a base to visit Sicily for a week or so and heading towards Rome to take a transatlantic cruise back to Tampa Florida. We are taking on line Italian lessons hoping we can get around. Maybe we will see you around.
