Confession; I have been slacking! I'm still out here in Oklahoma with the Army and have yet to record anything new... The good news is, I recorded quite a few things before I left NC! So here is a cover of "Watch Over You" from my favorite rock band, Alter Bridge, that I recorded a few weeks back in NC! If you guys aren't familiar with Alter Bridge you have to check them out! It's the original guys of Creed with a different lead singer. Alter Bridge is Guitar God Mark Tremonti, Bass Beast Brian Marshall, Dynamic Drummer Scott Phillips, and the Venerable Vocalist Myles Kennedy. I was hesitant to post this since I am such a big fan of the band and Tremonti has been a musician role model of mine since high school, I wanted to do it justice... but damn the torpedoes, you only live once so here it is! This particular version is in standard tuning! My guitar is always tuned down 1/2 step so that's why the Capo is on 1... so if your in standard tuning you won't need a capo. Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for watching! I love constructive criticism so thank you for that as well. I use to play this in open G. It sounds better and is actually easier to play in my opinion but I only have one acoustic guitar & I hated tuning & retuning when playing live, so i got lazy and found this alernate tuning which allowed me to stay in standard. As far as tempo, thats a constant struggle for me. Its evident in a few other videos. I'm a work in progress! :) Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

I am familiar with his open G tuning... my problem is when I play live I don't like to change tunings often because I only have one acoustic guitar and it becomes a pain in the but switching back and forth... so I got use to playing it this way. The open G tuning is amazing and sounds better but it's a little bit of a hassle on the fly. I had to take out some Goo Goo Doll songs off of my run list for the same reason... Unfortunately I don't have a snowballs chance in hell of pulling that off acoustically! I do have more Alter Bridge in the pipeline but Metalingus rocks a little too hard for an acoustic guitar. It's got Metal right in the title!
