Disneys Aladdin - Official Trailer REACTION

Disney has just dropped the full trailer for the Live Action Aladdin.
So here is my first reaction and full trailer breakdown!

Oh my god I was literally in tears when the song started... 💘💘💘💘

There's 2 big reasons to have this rendition made:

1. Money
2. Bring in new generations of fans of this classic tale

We have to realize most kids these days aren't as moved by cartoon animation as grand spectacle computer generated effects and live action. This goes for lion king and dumbo

The change with Jafar is interesting. I agree that what's in this movie doesn't fit the animated version of Jafar, but I feel like they might be making an evil, outwardly menacing villain into someone who's less of a caricature and is outwardly attractive but inwardly sinister. That's a more modern take. We'll have to see if that's what they're really doing and if it's successful, but it might end up being looked at as a positive change after the movie comes out.

So, so, excited for this! Loads of people complaining about casting and costumes etc, but I think it's bloody brilliant!!! 😄

Will Smith as the Genie will be okay. But, we should be more concerned about Jafar's character being butchered in this remake. I really don't want the filmmakers making the same mistakes to what happened with Gaston's character in the 2017 remake of Beauty and the Beast.

I agree with you about the "two minds" part, it depends on if they make the story "different" just for the sake of being different or if they actually improve on it from the animated version. Sticking to "the shot for shot" approach is safer but not as good as putting in scenes that will make it better than that version. So I'm torn between the "safe" way that will be just as good and a "different" way that could make it worse or make it better depending on *how* it is different. On the subject of a duet, I'd say that getting your "other half" to help would always be a good idea especially when it increases the range of your performances, so *go for it*

JAFAR is gonna pull the biggest surprise on us in this movie. I think he is pretending just to lure a younger Aladdin to do his evil bid. But in the middle scene of the movie, i think hes gonna reveal his real evil, more menacing JAFAR that we all love. And we gonna walk out of our movie theatres 😊😊😊 because we should also remember that JAFAR is a guy that studies magical stuff and wizardy to an extent. So hes good at covering up his looks and persona if he chooses.

I prefer they remake the classic story then completely change it till it's original is non existent, like the live action little mermaid trailer I saw. The story was completely different and killed it for me. Least the classic is a classic.

I would love to see a duet singing Whole new world. I think that would be so sweet and you have such a lovely voice you would slay it! <3

the story isn't Arabic originally it's from Persia, Todays Iran but the Arabs translated the book to the Arabic language then later the experts found the older book in older Farsi, the lyric that its from Persian language in more than 1000 years before the Arabs version... but I heard it has been a Chinese version in the beginning that the Persians wrote down in text or something like that.. at least it´s not Arabic the difference is that the European found that one first then the older one..

I like the bit where the LOOK like a prince but. I wont change anything in here" THANK YOU!! in the original he pretty much just gives him some fancy clothes. I laughed in the original when jafar was like " look at your prince now!" me: did you just change his clothes back

About Jafar and his line delivery in the trailer: it's possible that the softer-spoken voice we hear might be just a sort of front that he uses to make him seem more trustworthy to the people he's trying to manipulate (hope that makes sense!). For all we know at this point, he might use the same sort of voice when he's talking to the Sultan, then let the menace in his voice come out more when it's just him alone/himself and Iago. I could very easily be wrong, but we'll have to see.


I too hope they don't keep it TOO similar to the animated version. Otherwise, as you said, what's the point of it being live-action if it's just going to re-create every single scene, shot-for-shot, from the original film?


One other thing (again, I could very easily be totally wrong about this but it's just a thought): towards the end of the trailer, there's a (very quick, around the 2:01 mark in the trailer itself) shot of Rajah the tiger that kind of makes it look as if he's trying to lunge/charge at someone - or at the very least, snarl/growl at a person or persons whose faces we can't see, but who seem to be trying to keep him at bay. That makes me wonder, is Rajah going to be playing a bigger role within the plot?

Wow, can't believe i'm saying this but it looks promising. Looks interesting to watch..i wondered that jasmine outfit (the pinkish dress-outfit) one was her slave outfit. Originals are reddish

Its great to know that aside being an actress, Naomi Scott is also a singer. I dont have any worries about her singing being edited like Emma Watson's.
