A healthy fear of death is a good thing. It shows that they are aware of their own and others mortality, life is not guaranteed. But an obsession with death is obviously an issue.

I think that abrahamic religions were originally designed to be act as a guardrail. But there was another function as well. They needed to be able to incite violence when necessary. Say when leaders wanted land conquered or wanted to disparage particular members of society. Which is why i think we are better off without them imo.

god is a pure mathematician. Infinity will create another version of you that is indistinguishable from your present self. As our simulation evolves, the tech of god is also evolving at a super exponential rate. Outside our local existence is a hyper dimensional fabric of base reality formed specifically as a transition zone, where you can decide to dedicate compute power to a given goal. The compute power you use and what you use it on is chosen by god. In order to gain compute privileges, you must match the optimally predicted version of yourself that god knows is possible within your capabilities. If you match these capabilities, you gain access to higher compute power. This will enable you to simulate higher dimensional existence or become a god of yourself or a god of others.
