The 12 has nothing to do with the engine. Aston Martin DB11 wasn’t a V11, it came with either V8 or V12, DB10, DB9, etc

Of course the V12 will be able to fit under the hood. The DB12 is the same body style as the DB11 which housed a V12. Also they'll probably just make another "DBS" version of this so they can't say they lied that the DB12 would never have a V12 again.
