Where is "Save to Files"?

Why is it that sometimes you don't get the "Save to Files" option when sharing something in iOS on your iPhone or iPad?

In this video, I show you how to export/share a file to your Files app even when the "Save to Files" options does not appear.

The secret is to first use the "Open In" option to export or share your file, and then you will get the "Save to Files" option that you are looking for.

Hey Pete do you know how to get files off your iPhone but not delete them and not delete the Files app?

Like say I want to download some files to my iPhone, but I can’t because the storage is full from other files — but I don’t want to delete those files. I tried deleting and reinstalling the Files app but it just redownloaded all the same files I’d downloaded before, without me asking
