How To Make Modern Geometric Candle Holders
Показать описание
This project is the embodiment of "Trash to Treasure"
I swiped these boards from a construction site dumpster, after first asking permission, with the intent to elevate them into something beautiful. Pine 2 by X's are often viewed as common, ugly, not worthy, etc. and to be fair, I viewed them the same way for a long time. I hope to change that viewpoint overtime. It's definitely not my favorite material to work with and the results are sometimes less than stellar, but I've come to realize that some times it can be a "Diamond in the Rough"
I love this project because there's no wrong way to make these as long as you don't cut off any of the holes. It's seriously a lot of fun to make these as they are all experimental and they all turn out so unique. It's a good way to spend some time in the shop and an excellent way to use up some scrap material you have lying around.
With the material being so cheap, I even added a little pop of color to one of them this time around. It's something I wanted to try for a while but didn't want to paint over the expensive hardwood I used in the past.
They are also a great item for craft shows and I always sell out of them in no time. I will often throw one of these in with a more expensive item to sweeten the deal for any potential clients.
