Dexter & Emma | One day | She was my best friend.

I have watched this movie for the first time in 2012 and it has printed itself on me since then. I've watched it several times after that and I don't think I'll ever stop relate to it and love it with all of my soul.

My edit is a bit more sad than the story has it is, I wanted to point out the drama in it mostly, I guess the end of this movie is even more happier even if it's stays sad.

Anyway, it is one of the most realistic relationship journey I have seen in a story and the feels I get listening to it are real too.

PS. I miss Jim Sturgess on TV.. I don't know what he's been up to these past few years, maybe it's no longer his thing anymore but gosh he'll always be that incredible actor which convinced me to add him on my top list of actors. This movie was the first I had watch with him and I had to check his filmography after finishing it, wondering how have had never heard of him... I discovered his other work and than I knew he was really THAT great. I love him

The ending scene (the flashback scene)… It was so perfect for an ending. How the story was eventually unfolding. There was more to it than we knew. The more we watched the more we know their love was too special, and how they both equally fell for each other from the very beginning. What a masterpiece…

This movie really re-ignited a fire within me, touched my heart and made me feel things I never thought I could feel again. I connect with this movie on so many levels. I met a guy in my final year of university, and we were friends for 4 months, I fell in love with him and decided to confess to him at the end of the 4 months. Even though I could always see in his eyes that he did feel the same way, he said that he doesn't feel the same way, and told me we should just stay friends. Soon after, he ghosted me for 2 months and then texted me again as if nothing had happened. I got angry at him, and sent him a fuck off text. After some time, I decided I still do love him and decided to forgive him. We do talk again now, but only once in a while, and our friendship is not as strong as it used to be.

I finished reading the book 3 nights ago. I have not stopped crying since then. As a bachelor of 64 years of age I feel like I am 17 again and heart broken after leaving my first and most beautiful girlfriend. David Nicholls really knows how to break a person's heart. This video is excellent. Thank you for sharing it. It's devastatingly sad and beautiful. Off to bed now with a towel once again. Who knew a broken heart could hurt so much???? Peace be with you.

I love this movie and the couple portrayed, but I’m genuinely surprised they didn’t include a scene of some kind that is a friend confronting her about perhaps being strung along by dexter. It would have absolutely happened in real life. There’s no way that someone could be friends with dexter that’s a female without it being a slightly toxic friendship. He flirts with her when it’s convenient, flaunts women around her(perhaps not intentionally, but still) allows extremely long periods of time to pass before admitting his wrongs, but only when she’s conveniently in front of him at a wedding. I love this movie really, but I can’t help, but be bothered by the “go along” of him stringing her along, but if this were in real life everyone would be screaming at Em to dump him as a friend and put herself first.
