Trailer RV Lift -- Easy + CHEAP!! - Dexter Axle Leaf Spring Over Under Conversion Kit!!

Are you looking to lift your camper, RV, enclosed, cargo or other style of trailer??? This is an easy + inexpensive method.

This conversion kit essentially can relocate the trailer axle from under the leaf springs to over the leaf springs and vice versa. By installing the conversion kit you can lift/raise your trailer approximately 6" or lower it approximately 6".

It is recommended that you minimally "tack weld" the replacement spring perch to the axle. We fully welded ours. This will keep the spring perch from shifting should the U-Bolts become loose.

#1 - This only applies to Dexter style axles with leaf springs.
#2 - You'll need to measure your axle diameter to purchase the correct kit.

Great video guys! I watch most of your videos as I have a truck camper. This one caught my eye because I like to go off road sometimes with my trailer. This looks like a great option. Now some of the comments have me scratching my head. I dont expect you to teach me I watch to get inspired and do my own research. I didn’t know there was a kit, I spent 10$ on a new pair of saddles is what the local trailer parts store called them, and just used the same hardware. My trailer is 3500 pound only though and no brakes, but it’s good to know there is a kit.

Your skipping right from dropped leafsprings to the finished suspension effectively makes this a "how to disassemble your trailer suspension" video. Lacking reassembly steps I'm not sure what the purpose of showing this to us was.

Did you consider buying one with the straight axle option instead of the drop axle? The trailer sits higher before the kit is installed, and even higher with it. The trailer market is tight right know because I've been shopping for one.

Good info about kits available. Poor instructions on how to. And nothin about how the new axel saddles need to be positioned and secured properly for proper camber of the tires to prevent improper wear especially on tires labeled TR type. But again hopefully there's instructions with the kit.
