We can't comprehend that each higher dimension gives an entire new reality. 4d would be an entire volume of extra space, not just a single extra direction. 5d would be a whole other 4d space to move through, and so on.

1 and 2 dimensions are not possible to see because they need the 3rd to have substance.
2 dimensions is a plane but until it has the 3rd dimension (even one Planck high) it cannot be observed.
I believe this is how the 4th exists; it exists but cannot be observed with our perspective.

I think the closest thing to the 4th dimension is a lucid dream. It is some sort of non-physical realm where the laws of Newtonian physics don’t generally apply.
