Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier are due for a reunion in France, so will the story hold up in their first meeting since the man TWD show came to an end? The season finale of the main series was so underwhelming, but season 2 of Daryl Dixon REALLY surprised me. This spin off series has been a solid watch

The first two episodes minus bad green and being shot on digital as opposed to film feel like a return to the first 6 seasons of The Walking Dead in terms of writing. I hope they bring back the parent shows horror aspect but I felt episode 2 pulled it's punches with how it dealt with those two female characters Carol met in Greenland.

DD Season 1 fell apart into cliché territory for me towards the end. The French boys father should not have met that fate in the season 1 finale. It would have made the story more interesting if they kept him around for Daryl to butt heads with him as a competing father figure. They could have made this coincide to pre apocalypse flashbacks of Daryl's childhood with Merle and his abusive father with Laurents dad becoming increasingly abusive to Laurent and his aunt only reminding Daryl of his father. Then had the only thing stopping Daryl from beating and ditching Laurents father being that Laurent loves him and wants him to stay with them.

Looking forward to the Carol and Ash stuff. Feel like with Daryl we are getting rinse and repeat of the last 6 or 7 seasons. And that makes me sad

TWD DD is great in all ways except for the number of episodes per season. S1 had only six (6) episodes (as did the other TWD spin-offs). S2, probably the same. If _all_ of the big shows like Mr & Mrs Smith, Fallout, and The Rings of Power have seasons that are eight (8) episodes in length and all of these shows were nominated for Emmys this year, why would the TWD spin-offs not have seasons eight (8) episodes long, too?

As long as it's better than TOWL that's all I care about. The ending of that show was so rushed it actually made me mad/worried about the future of these shows. I am really glad Carol's development and return goes well and I'm excited to see what the reason for them going to Spain is. Also the villain being a "he" instead of Genet is interesting. Also want to see what you mean about grander universe implications in the finale, I can't fathom what they could do that's more interesting than the CRM storyline they messed up.
