This is also my favourite lens on the 7C II. Compact, sharp and versatile in terms of focal length. Perfect for family gatherings.

I had this briefly on the Sony A7CR (61mp). It's extremely sharp even at F1.4! The sad part is that it was so heavy and large that it became a burden to carry on the small A7CR. When you're hiking with it, it drags the camera downwards making it quite annoying, which is my main use case. So I decided to move it on and stick to the 40mm F2.5. The bokeh is not quite as impressive but it's far, far lighter and more portable.

In January when I got back to photography, this is the exact setup I got and never looked back.

The Best Lens on current Sony lens-lineup. 50/1.4 comes close but if you need to pick just one - I would definitely go with 35/1.4.

I don’t shoot video but I will pair my 16-25/2.8 G with both the 35/1.4 GM and the 50/1.4 GM if I need a wider aperture to reduce DOF. Otherwise I use the 24-50/2.8 G. Like wise will pair my 24-50/2.8 with the 20/1.8 G or 14/1.8 GM if I’m shooting in low light for the wide end like for astrophotography. Trying to keep my kit flexible and smaller for my compact C bodies. Thank you and take care.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was there any footage of this lens on the A7CII? I only saw the lens on the A7SIII...

I agree, the price you pay for GM lenses today should have focus breathing that bad.

I have the Sigma 35 1.4; it's a bit heavier & longer, but still like it a lot. That being said, I feel the Sigma 35 2.0 balances much better on the A7Cii. In fact, IMO 1.4 primes are too heavy & large are too much for the A7cii.

Great lens, although I don't use mine. If anyone is interested in buying one, let me know. Pretty much brand new
