Was This The MOST CONTROVERSIAL Presidential Election?

This past Wednesday morning, Americans woke up uncertain of who their president will be on Jan. 20.

Neither the Republican ticket of Trump and Vice President Mike Pence nor the Democratic ticket of Biden and vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris, a senator from California, had reached the necessary 270 electoral votes.

The fight for the White House could end up lasting days or even weeks. But this isn’t the first time we’ve had a controversial election.

Let’s take a look back at the Presidential Election of 1876.

So what? Is that supposed to mean something? Wow, what a shock! it sure is hard to believe that Tilden was never a.president, even though he won something that’s always been totally irrelevant. You’d think that after he scored so highly on such a meaningless statistic they would’ve just let him be the president. It’s not like both candidates knew what the rules were beforehand or anything, ...I bet Hayes felt terrible when he found out that he won the election for president, but he lost something totally irrelevant. I’m sure he would’ve gladly traded places with that guy that nobody’s ever heard of today (because he was never a president) in a heartbeat if he could’ve only won that thing that doesn’t matter. Poor Rutherford. All he ever wanted was to be the popular vote winner 🙄

The fact that you can win the electoral college and not the popular vote is NOT a flaw. The system is designed to allow the minority to win. That's the whole point of a Republic. The rights of the minority are still protected regardless of what the majority says.
