Tesla HW3 Kicks Major A.S.S. in Costco Parking Lot

The long awaited 'Actually Smart Summon' (aka A.S.S.) has finally arrived for HW4 and HW3 vehicles! I received this update on Tuesday, September 3rd, just one day after HW4 vehicles received it. This is still an early access release, however, Elon Musk mentioned that it would go wide next week (Week of September 9th).

It reverses a little bit at first to get a better idea of what's in front of it, since the forward facing camera can't see what's directly in front of the bumper.

Dirty Tesla put a comment that he was wrong about curbing. You also noticed there's no smudge on the wheel or tire on his car from a curbing.

Really don’t recommend doing Smart Summon in a busy area. SS can fail and block traffic. Like what you just demonstrated on all the test.

It took 2 years to come up with something 10% better than smart summon on my 2019 M3P.

I am a traveler. Please take your car to a few hotels and park. Then summon it to the covered portico at the front entry to simulate checking out during a heavy storm.

It's almost like they are engaging the parking brake which would explain the rough stops.

Great video. There is a lot of foot traffic in that parking lot and FSD is always super careful when people are around. I feel like when you see the car and it's almost to the destination, you will walk up to the car and end the session. FSD is always a very courteous driver. I have FSD 12.5.2 HDW4 and have never had summon. I look forward to it becoming available.

I’m not comfortable using it in a busy parking lot. Once I was at Walmart and it took off like somebody was driving it but then Karen’s started chasing it with cameras the police showed up and with all the commotion it stopped and I had to do the walk of shame while being yelled at by a cop lol it works flawless when in an empty parking lot
