The USAC midget race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Brickyard 400 weekend is going to be a celebration of Bryan Clauson's career and Tuesday RACER caught up with his father, Tim Clauson, to talk about the event in his son's honor and what Indy meant to the USAC star. Ricky Stenhouse, one of Clauson's best pals who was a short-track hero before moving to NASCAR, will be wheeling one of Clauson's cars in the Sept. 5-6 program along with USAC standout Justin Grant.

And Kokomo Speedway's Reece O'Connor will be preparing the quarter-mile track inside Turn 3 at IMS. And if Gabby Chaves, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti and James Hinchcliffe get the green light to do a little hot-lap session, Grant promises to show Hinch the quick way around before covering him up in dirt.

Say what? Are talking about an I.R.O.C. race on dirt??? In midgets? If so that would be the race of the year! Maybe they could ask Jeff Gordon to come and drive as well! And Alex Bowman, Kasey Kane, Clint Bowier and Ryan
