What's Bobby been up to? #climbing

Bobby has been working full time building challenge courses and zip lines, which has given him lots of time to use his AWAH Z2R. While a drill-powered pulley can't replace rope access ascending, descending, and positioning techniques, it can save you a lot of time an effort! Would you call this cheating?

Work smarter not harder is a great motto for life, save that energy for you not your boss! This is such a clever contraption and I can see it being not only useful but lifesaving in a number of different scenarios. I would like to see it become a piece of emergency kit carried by not only search and rescue but also the fire brigade, not only for them to conserve precious energy but as a tool to rescue injured, stuck or scared humans and animals❤

Great timing, I was literally on a hunt last Saturday to find out what Bobby's been doing. 😂

All I can say is I’m so glad tools that make work like this “easy” are coming to the market finally.

What I find amazing is the amount of power and energy available from (and used by!) modern brushless drills and their lithium-ion batteries. An effort that would leave a climber with powerful legs using traditional ascenders quite worn out going at half the speed is trivial with a fist-sized chunk of magnets and copper. Conversely, I wouldn't think that putting a big spade or auger bit through a 2x4 requires power that would be able to hoist a man to the canopy!

This is freaking awesome. I was a zip line tour guide in California and the course was world class. I was out for a ton of inspections and got to mingle with builders and safety people, and was super fascinated by the rigging process, building the platforms, stringing up the lines, all of the safety features and redundancy…
This canopy looks amazing, what a cool place to work.

I haven't gotten an opportunity to try this ascender yet but the "automatic" ascenders are really nice atleast from an arboridt point of view😊, I have the wraptor which has been amazing, I don't use it a ton but when I do, it's so nice haha💚 this is much more compact though so I can see how it would be super useful and "easier" to haul around😊 and it's a bit cheaper than the $3k wraptor which it's always a good thing when you can put some money back in your pocket and still get great products 💚💚💚

I only “have to/get to” climb LED video walls when somebody else screws up.

drill powered? above 20 feet i’d definitely wanna be using a hilti, dewalt or Milwaukee, maybe a mikita. definitely not a black and decker or ryobi

Hey, a little throwback.
overhand knots, but a drop and climbing up. No logical person would fall and then just sit there, right?

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to justify a 1600 dollar purchase as much as I want to buy this device. Feel free to argue good style with me all you want, but this would make big walls so cush.

Talking about using a backup whilst ascending one rope is hilarious
