This is soo true, I'm in recovery and 5 years clean. At the start people I knew from that life would congratulate me but now I've got me degree, working and making a good life for myself they tryna drag me back down asking me to come use with them. Fortunately I've got better things going on in my life and I'm not throwing it all away for anything or anybody. The gym is my escape these days

100%. My dad has been in sales his whole life and he told me this the day I started out in a similar field at the bottom. Early on, a lot of the old vets were nothing but encouraging early on, after about 4 years I had caught some of them and was beginning to get recognized at a higher level in our organization and before long that loving encouragement turned into passive aggressiveness and resentment. Crazy.

as soon as your the actual man and it’s a reality and your clearly doing better than them they start to become jealous and resent you. it’s such a weird thing.
