In this video I destroy my truck headlights and insert addressable LEDs into them to make my own sequential / animated turn signals. Follow along as I reduce the inherent value of my vehicle to manifest an idea I couldn't ignore.

I went to find your ceiling tile vid and saw this one; I'm wiring up my garage to turn it from 'storage' to 'shop space' so lighting is going to be key. But I also have a "Reward" to myself of 'full LED conversion' for my own F-150 when I finish zero'ing off my remaining credit card. I'm bookmarking this and hope you keep it updated. :)

Have you heard of the BlueGhozt V2, an led controller made for automotive use w/ it's own software. I do think WLED with the relay system is more customisable tho, very cool 👍🏼

So unless I missed something you seems to be using gpio 02 and 00 (d4 and d3) and these are the boot pins for the esp8266 and it's just those two that need to be in a specific state at boot time, looking at your wiring diagram you could simply move those one of the other free i/o pins.
