Installing Alexander Calder’s 'Red Lily Pads'

Показать описание
Get a behind-the-scenes look into the installation of Alexander Calder’s "Red Lily Pads" (1956) in "Visionaries: Creating a Modern Guggenheim."
Drawn to forms and unexpected juxtapositions he found in nature, Alexander Calder created abstract compositions that activated the surrounding space, as seen with "Red Lily Pads." Calder also had a degree in engineering and made innovative sculptures in which balanced forms move in ways that often depend on air currents.
"Visionaries: Creating a Modern Guggenheim" is on view February 10–September 6, 2017.
