They can't keep getting away with it (The Orchard False Claims)

Just a quick video discussing some copyright issues I've been having on my channel from The Orchard making claims against my music.

Just a quick thing here: If you do reach out to the rapper in his comments or on IG, keep your interactions with him respectful. I don't want to get in any trouble for cyber-bullying or leading a "harassment campaign", I know YT is pretty strict with that. But I think if you were to just mention (respectfully) that he should remove the copyright claim that should be fine. Or you could link him to this video so he could see the full context of what's going on, it might help. For all we know, he's not the one doing anything malicious. It could be the case the "producer" he lists in the song title took the beat, passed it off as his own and then sold it to him. I couldn't find the producer's information anywhere, so I was unable to contact them. But, if that were case, then Acet didn't necessarily do anything wrong, he just got misled by someone and failed to respond to me in a timely manner. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

YouTube needs to do something about it, they keep on providing more and more to the copyright holders due to legal reasons but they need to protect the content creators as well. One cannot make a content ID for every tutorial he/she ever made. This sucks. Wishing the best for you Mr. Rent

This is ridiculous. It's already a grueling process to put in hours perfecting your craft; then along comes a random person trying to claim your craft.

I can definitely feel your frustration. As a producer with catalog of hundreds of beats, false claims from different distributors happen unfortunately daily and we’d had to resort to the appeal stage more times than I can honestly remember. I do understand the benefits of automated copyright systems, but not everyone should have access to it in my opinion. I guess we just have to get used to defending our art 👎👎

The fact you can send a literal video of you making the beat and YouTube still looks at that and denies the claim is so incompetent it's almost funny.

I'm not sure what is going on with youtube lately, but in law school I was taught that after a first copyright strike, youtubes' bot automatically blocks the content and gives you a certain period to appeal. After you appeal, actual human being, a pesron working for youtube is deciding about the appeal. I can't believe these guys decided against you especially after you provided such evidence... I'm a musician and beatmaker myself, and specialising in intellectual property on my law masters. I've been involved in few of these similar cases, and it was always easily resolved. This shocked me.

The Orchard ignores all correspondence and upholds false copyright claims regularly. I have complained to YouTube about them dozens of times. Their "trusted partner" status should've been revoked years ago based on my complaints alone.

I realize this is a year old but I am just having my first issue with Orchard. I have a very small channel where I upload videos to share with friends and family. Recently, I uploaded a video of a ride I had with my horse. I'm trying out a new pair of stirrup irons(the things you rest your feet on) and adjusting my stirrup leathers(the strap that holds the stirrup to the saddle). In the video, I'm discussing things like why it's been so long since I've ridden. How I need to adjust my leathers because they are new and need adjusted for my height for proper position. They claimed two spots, each less than a minute long. The first was where I sigh and you hear the velcro from my camera where it is mounted to my helmet. It's complete silence otherwise. The second is where I am talking about cleaning some corrosion off of a piece of my equipment with baking soda and vinegar or possibly just a can of soda. I also make mention of the fact that one of the stirrups fell like I knew it would and slide it back into place. I disputed the claims, they found them valid. Which is absurd. Now we are in the appeal process. Which has opened up my small little channel to the possibility of getting not one but two strikes. Youtube's copyright system has been broken for a very very long time. Even when a video is absolutely silent there are still attempts to claim content that isn't there. Which I had happen to one of my earlier videos. They need to get a handle on this.

this happened to me with a company called believe music the other week, same thing happened, the claims were always disputed however this one got rejected. After a long week of emailing I finally got them to take it off. It was on my biggest and growing beat so it was very frustrating.
