Показать описание
Here is a selection of poetry composed by Sappho (c. 620 - 570 B.C.), an ancient Greek poetess who lived on the island of Lesbos. She composed nine volumes of poetry but only one of her poems exists in it's entirety; the rest only survive as fragments. She is best known for her passionate lyrics about romantic love between women. In fact, the word 'lesbian' comes from Lesbos and Sappho is widely believed to have been homosexual.
