....Να λες στον εαυτό σου το πρωινό κάθε ημέρας: θα συναντηθώ με ανθρώπους πολυάσχολους, αχάριστους, αλαζόνες, δόλιους, φθονερούς, ακοινώνητους, όλα αυτά τους συμβαίνουν επειδή αγνοούν το καλό και το κακό. Εγώ όμως, που έχω εννοήσει την φύση του καλού, ότι είναι ωραίο, και τη φύση του κακού, ότι είναι άσχημο, όπως και τη φύση εκείνου ο οποίος έσφαλε, ότι είναι συγγενής μου όχι από το ίδιο αίμα ή σπέρμα αλλά από τον ίδιο νου και επειδή μετέχει του θεϊκού μέρους, δεν μπορώ να βλαφτώ από κανένα τους, διότι κανείς δεν μπορεί να με εμπλέξει στο άσχημο.

...Κενοσπουδία για πομπές, δράματα πάνω στη σκηνή, κοπάδια και συναγελάσματα, λογχίσματα σε κορμιά, κοκαλάκια σε σκυλάκια, μπουκιές σε δεξαμενές ψαριών, ταλαιπωρίες φορτωμένων μυρμηγκιών, ποντικάκια που τρέχουν φοβισμένα, νευρόσπαστα που χειρονομούν. Πρέπει λοιπόν να στέκεσαι απέναντι τους με ευμένεια και χωρίς αλαζονεία, να προσέχεις όμως πως ο καθένας αξίζει τόσο, όσο τα πράγματα που τον απασχολούν.

....Dì a te stesso la mattina di ogni giorno: mi incontrerò con persone indaffarate, ingrate, arroganti, disoneste, cattive, asociali, tutto ciò gli capita poiché ignorano il bene e il male. Io invece, avendo capito la natura del bene, che è bello, e la natura del male, che è brutto, come anche la natura di colui che ha sbagliato, che è mio parente non dello stesso sangue o sperma ma della stessa mente e siccome è parte dell’essenza divina, non posso essere danneggiato da nessuno di loro, poiché nessuno può implicarmi al brutto.

....Discussioni vuote per cortei, drammi sulla scena, branchi e risate, corpi trafitti, ossetti ai cagnolini, bocconi in serbatoi di pesci, stanchezze delle formiche cariche, topini che corrono impauriti, nervosi fantocci che gesticolano. Devi quindi avere nei loro confronti carità e non arroganza, fà attenzione però che ognuno vale tanto, quanto le cose che lo riguardano.
