"I Can Only Imagine" is a contemporary Christian song by MercyMe, penned by lead vocalist Bart Millard. Inspired by the loss of his father, Millard wrote the song as a way to express the emotions and questions surrounding death and the afterlife. Originally included in their 1999 independent album, the song gained widespread recognition after being featured in their major label debut album "Almost There" in 2001.

"I Can Only Imagine" quickly became a crossover hit, topping Christian charts and making its way to mainstream radio. Its universal themes of grief, hope, and faith resonated with listeners across various backgrounds. The song's popularity was further propelled by the release of a 2018 film of the same name, which chronicled the story behind the song and the band's journey. Over the years, "I Can Only Imagine" has solidified its status as an anthem of comfort and inspiration for millions worldwide.

Your concert early this year and your movie several years ago were a blessing. This is how I feel about God. He has blessed me even when I am absolutely nothing. I don't fit into this wicked world. I always wanted to be drumming for a band, but I am so inadequate. I don't want to give up. I know that I am not the best out there, far from it. I want God's best fit, even if I am afraid of it, I want to have fun doing it, sharing my faith with the world. I love Jesus!
Thank you for creating this powerful song and all the other ones as well. Very good music. I praise God for your ministry!
