Paddling And Camping By The Coast Of Harrison: Harrison Hot Springs BC // Nat and Max
Показать описание
For the fifth episode of our British Columbia Camping Series, we went paddling and camping by the Coast of Harrison Lake, 2 1/2 hours from Vancouver BC, and 30 mins from Harrison Hot Springs. Harrison Lake is the largest lake in the southern Coast Mountains of Canada and what better way to explore the coast of Harrison than exploring it from an inflatable kayak and camping by the beach.
There are a few family-friendly campgrounds around Harrison Lake and for today's camping in BC, we went to Bear Creek Campground. Bear Creek Recreation Site Campground with 40 campsites has drive-in sites, walk-in forest sites, and walk-in beach sites. We camp in Bear Creek Campground's walk-in forest site and felt like being transported in Jurassic Park with all the forest trees and fern surrounding us.
The Harrison Lake has three hot springs along the shores including the popular Harrison Hot Springs. Last summer we had a blast jumping and sliding in Harrison Hot Springs Floating Waterpark on the lake. Harrison Lake was important in the early history of British Columbia as one of the water links on the Douglas Road which accessed the goldfields of the upper Fraser during the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush of 1858-60. This glacier-fed lake is a lot colder than many of the lakes in the surrounding areas. Cautious not to fall off our boat, we still had the best time paddling and exploring Harrison Lake with our inflatable kayak which we rented via Ruckify.
