Prong collars aren’t abusive as long as the handler is using it right.

Prong collar changed mine & my working line GSD’s lives… he was getting to the point where I couldn’t walk him safely. Now, I know that’s due to a lack of training but after having learned this I’m now using to prong to teach him what’s acceptable on walks. It means we can be outside and around other dogs & people safely and at the end of the day that’s all that matters to me. Will he always wear one? No. But for now, we keep training

I used prong collars on my first pitbull when I was training him. He only wore it on walks and when we would train. After I slowly took the prong collar off and just used commands. All about properly using the tool.

Only tool that helped me train my dog. I tried everything else and my dog was pulling like crazy, now she walks by my side.

I totally agree with you! I rescued a six month old great Dane, and he nearly took my shoulder out. I got the prong collar and he went from beast to Butterfly on the first walk! It’s like a mother dog grabbing her puppy by the neck and saying no. It’s his choice, if he pulls the mother dog says no, and the mother is me!

I must admit I was against them I just didn't understand how they worked and listened to other people. Then we got a german shephard who was so reactive to everything that moved we just couldn't cope. So I found an excellent trainer who showed us how to use it correctly and our beautiful dog now walks so well on the lead and with gentle guidance doesnt lunge or pull or react . You can tell she now enjoys walks without being anxious
Thank you for bringing this subject up love your videos

People who complain about these are the same people who put a regular collar on their dogs and yank it

My 10 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier had his first walks on a prong collar today and it was the best two walks we’ve had to date, previously he’s pulled me like he’s pulling a sleigh, but today he was calm and right by my side, I spent a lot of time trawling the tube on their correct fitting and use and for me today was a huge turning point and have no regrets about getting it, we both enjoyed the walk for the first time today! It might not be right for all but me and my boy are happy

With my first dog I've ever owned a german shepherd i had hired a positive reinforcement trainer. I didn't know much at the time but i do know my girl never stopped pulling hard on walks. She was a really good girl though and she is missed. I have a new pup a working line shepherd coming home in a few weeks, but this time around we're open to using the prong as we educated ourselves and it's important that we have a safety in place.

I’ve just started using a prong collar on my dog tried everything, had my fingers dislocated with him pulling, he was getting so bad at pulling he was nearly choking himself out. I hated walking him. But oh my god the difference with the prong collar. he walks to heel, his tails up, and he prancers on walks now, won’t use it for ever but is just helping me to train him.

I want to say something important too. The reason you see some dogs or hear of dogs getting puncture wounds because of this tool is do to several factors. The big one is that they are buying cheep or knockoff prong collars. These typically have sharp edges to them or are not rounded at the tips and have sharp angles. A proper prong collar should have no sharp part to it and the tip should be smooth, curved, and not come to a point. Other issues is that people use it way too tight. It doesn’t need to be that tight. Lastly- there are just horrible people out there that straight up abuse their animal or take out their anger on the dog and do things like pull as hard as they can or god knows what else.

BANG ON.... to many uneducated owners with untrained dogs, , they're the ones who tend to judge

Yes yes yes. Only harm thats ever come to one of my dogs with a prong collar is an allergic reaction from the metal so i coated it in epoxy

I’ve always thought they were because I’ve never used one but with the way my dog pulls, I might have to

We tried the sunshine and rainbows method of training our Australian Shepherd and she grew into being dominant in our family. I used a correction collar and she 180ed her attitude quick. It's not about complete control, it's about them focusing so ultimately we can let her be free and off the leash all the time when we're out.

I’ve been yelled at in public by a stranger for using one on my dog. I wish more people were willing to have a proper conversation than to get so hostile and rude. It’s sad that so many are uneducated about this amazing tool.

Been following you for a while and this is the first time ive seen you comment on this product I have a bullmastiff and I've been using I slip lead I've also used now halti he hated and spent most of the time rolling around the floor when we went I then switch to a slip again it all works fine he has a very high prey drive how many latches onto something smells fixation the slip leash reaches I'm now considering the prong coller and with hours of research and how to use them correctly im now ready to try it as i want my dog trained next level, i want him to make his own choices but the safe and correct ones.. lefties and people that cant be arsed to put the time in to train are the only ones complaining. Fact .
