Boeing 737 is in big trouble again! Here’s Why
In 20 18 and 20 19, Boeing became the center of safety controversies since two serious accidents involving the 7 3 7 Max aircraft, which led to their complete grounding. After software improvements and bug fixes, the aircraft was cleared by the FAA to fly again in November 20 20. After a period of silence, the safety of Boeing aircraft was questioned again when an emergency door blowed out, forcing the crew to make an emergency landing. Boeing's troubles have not left the scene as recently there was a new ominous discovery about this aircraft. So what’s this new problem? What will the aircraft maker do about it? Let’s find out in today’s episode!

The 737 Problem
Boeing 737 is in big trouble again! Here’s Why
According to Fortune on August 14, Boeing identified a “nonconforming component” in three 7 3 7 aircraft that it had delivered. The problem centers on a junction box which is a critical part of the transmission of power from the main power source to the electrical equipment on the plane.
Boeing said production at its Renton factory had been delayed due to the problem, and stressed that it would make any necessary repairs on the aircraft before redelivering them.
Ronald Epstein at Bank of America said that this could further delay delivery times. Although it is still unclear how many aircraft are affected by the problem.
Boeing 737 is in big trouble again! Here’s Why
This latest incident adds to Boeing’s recent troubles. The company is still struggling to recover from two 7 3 7 Max crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia that killed a total of 346 people. In July, Boeing agreed to plead guilty to criminal conspiracy to commit fraud to resolve a Justice Department investigation into the fatal crashes. Boeing has also faced increased scrutiny from the FAA following a door-button failure on a Boeing 7 3 7 Max 9 on January 5. More recently, flaws in Boeing's Starliner spacecraft forced two astronauts to delay their return to Earth for months at the International Space Station. The series of crises has prompted Boeing to slow production to focus on improving product quality.

Boeing will only improve its reputation when it sacks all of the bean counters on the board and replaces them with engineers.

The saying was: "If it is NOT a Boeing I am not going !"
How things have chnged !
Noi the saying is: "If IT IS a Boeing I am NOT going !"

Bean counters know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
I was asked once why there were more bolts in 1 box than another, and why were there more flat washers than spring washers in that box.
Christ, if worrying about the number of washers in a box is a major concern for bean counters, its no wonder projects run over budget.

The 737 Max has been in trouble since the beggining. This is not the NOT the same company that built the classy and beautiful 727, 747, 757, 767 and the earlier renditions of the Triple 7. The company now seems to engage in a death culture. Their new motto could be : " our passengers are DYING to fly with us and our employees receive a KILLER retirement package". Rest in peace to John Barnett and the other whistleblowers that spoke up and it cost them their lives.😢 The people at Boeing forget, that " you reap what you sow". You will one day be accountable to God and will have no excuse for putting money and profits over peoples' lives.

Every company that ended in the hands of beancounters is doomed. Boeing is beyond repair

Count me skeptical. The new CEO may be well intentioned, but once shareholder value has become the prime objective in a company it's very hard to avoid the next fudge.

Had the bolts been put back in the failed door plug there would have been no problem. Putting sensors on a fixed plug is like putting doors on the barn AFTER the cows got out. The new CEO of Boeing needs to be hands on and not with his butt parked in some office. He also needs to get control of the bean counters and restore the quality that Boeing USED TO BE known for. Boeing now is more like the Russian Airflot and not like it used to be.

Customer confidence is at a record low. With the crashes, door falling off, deicing issies and loosing wheels, Boeing is doing a good job of tanking the companies name.
Then theres Starliner.... need we go on....

The problem began when they adopted MD business model. Shareholders over quality.

Pay the CEO less, way less, and invest that money in quality control.

Perhaps Boeing should re-brand to try to avoid the hangover of so much bad press.

It's been over 40 years since Bob Newhart's standup routine; the name is back in public domain.
"The Grace L Ferguson Airline & Storm Door Company." Go for it!

This will reassure the public that the company - now focused on both airplane construction AND storm doors - is focused on quality. If the Boeing 737 that lost it's door had had a STORM door, the main door would not have blown off. Right?

Why aren’t any of the Boeing executives in jail ?? … and don’t forget the board of directors … many of them share the responsibility of those lost lives …

And they ditched the 757 and the 797 for this box of chaos . THE AI IS SHITE....

I agree…Kelly will definitely maintain the Boeing’s and customers reputation high…but at any cost safety and quality shouldn’t be compromised..however still Boeing has the crown in the global commercial market 13000 plus fleets

Nice sales job. Crappy AI voice. If a customer could choose, nobody would get on a Boeing plane. Unfortunately, customers don't have a choice. I've never been afraid of flying. Now, if it's a Boeing plane, I'm not so comfortable anymore.

I really need to get to Wisconsin from Florida, but am going to drive the 1500miles. It will be years before I trust any Boeing plane no matter who's in charge. He won't be designing or building the planes or doing the maintenance!

I have a wait and see attitude with any new managerial and mechanical changes.

It’s a long way To recovering confidence and customer acceptance as well, just get Back To the Quality legendary status, get the pride back, focus on the Job well done, and the Company is already To make it. Good luck, a salute from Bogota, Colombia, a country 60 years plus Boeing territory.

Ortberg may do ok but he needs to quickly realise that the entire company needs to be assessed for employee competence and qualifications to do their jobs correctly and appropriately.
If any employee falls short, they should be dismissed.
