Having little to no expectations of the second child is good! I am the same person, but my 2 boys couldn't be more different. My second has kept me on my toes since he was about a year old, never a dull moment! Long story short, I'm not having anymore kids. 😂 Harriet seems like such a sweet soul, I'm sure she'll adjust great to having a little brother. 💞

Would love to see a video with your baby things. Stroller, crib, clothes, carriers and all your newborn necessities. Having a boy too in May and have a girl who will be 3 and a half when baby arrives 😉☺️

I feel you so much, especially on the covid topic. I got pregnant in august, and had a missed miscarriage before that. Spring and summer came around, things around covid looked better and we wanted a second baby since the newyear. So we paused in march, april, but then got back to trying. Yes, I know I got pregnant knowing there was a disease going around. But it looked better and noone could tell us how long we were going to have to deal with it, could be years. But recent spikes, the British variety (I'm in Europe) and even the storming of your capitol, really took a toll. And then there's the stress of work at an elementary school (some kids get emergency-care, for example when parents work in healthcare), imagine working with young kids while not being allowed any safety measures. I took a week long break from the internet, stopped following the news and comments on socials. Took long baths, baked bread and cookies, read a book and really slowed down. It helped me so much mentally. Now I am trying to find balance again. I am glad when spring comes around and more people are vaccinated and we are able to get back to a more normal life. (we are currently in a super strict lock down)

My husband and I have the exact same approach for cloth diapering and it's so freeing!! I felt like it had to be all or nothing at first and once I let that go, we started to really love it!

What a joyful time in your life to be able to bring a child into the world. You seem so stressed, enjoy this season of your life. It is so special to have little ones to mold daily. I'm a momma to 8 and I know it's tough when your in the thick of it to remember how blessed you are . but you are!

Okay I love this sweater. Do you have details to share?

Edit: Also I'm a FTM during COVID and I really understand what you're saying regarding pregnancy and COVID. We've been so super diligent since initial lockdowns in March 2020 and only saw our parents once in all of 2020 to tell them we were expecting after lots of stressful cancellations and pleading they social distance. We do hardly no-non-essential trips out of the house (including things like haircuts, etc). I wish I could just decompress, unplug from work, and do some self care/time (massage, nails, hair, walking around the strore [cold in Chicago which I know you understand!]). It's really hard to not have time away from the home (even though we are typically homebodies).

It's so awesome hearing someone be super straightforward about pregnancy! I don't want kids myself, but a lot of my friends are starting trying and it's great to send some honest but relaxed YouTubers their way (when they ask for it) 😊

I had my first baby back in August and the COVID stuff has been so hard. I was in my 2nd trimester during the initial lockdown in March and I had to cancel my baby shower. I was so depressed during that time because I couldn't share my pregnancy with anyone. Basically, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenthood is so so difficult during this time. Best of luck to you with the rest of your pregnancy, birth, etc.

Feeling all the same feelings about motherhood during covid! We have a 7mo and it’s so hard! I spend so much time giving myself grace, crying, trying, surviving, failing and thriving. It’s been a deeply lonely time. Sending a virtual hug to you.

For what it’s worth I love the mix of mom stuff and home stuff on your channel! I love literally every piece of content you make ☺️

Thanks for doing this video! Was really good to know there’s other people who feel the same. Social isolation is so hard when pregnant. My partner is working at the hospital during the day and renovating our cottage at night so I’m on my own a lot! 🥲

It's so tough! I found out i was pregnant 2 days after COVID hit our province and we've been in a total lockdown since 2 weeks before she was born. No one has held her except her dad, medical professionals, and me. Hopefully soon!

When this video was posted over a week ago, I couldn’t watch it. We are TTC and I was in the middle of one of my long 90 day cycles. Yesterday I got my first positive ever! Now I’m funny how that is.

Thanks for this! I just had my second and can relate to a lot of your feelings. You'll do great as a mama of two! I've found reading books with my toddler while the newborn nurses works well. I'll rotate books so she feels like they're new and/or special and we'll also read electronic books from the library on my phone.

I'm kind of surprised/happy to hear this beautiful news, i thought you and somebody in the comments raised the "having more kids=not being sustainable" issue. Comments on this dilemma can be found under lots of lovely girls pictures or videos (such as Courtney Adamo, i remember she received a good dose of criticism on this point when she was expecting her baby number 5).

Baby blues. That’s what I heard it called....depression during pregnancy. I had it bad with my second one. I also had heart burn really bad too! Truthfully I remember being so surprised that I did not like pregnancy - I thought I would love it - but that contant nauseous, tired, heartburn ugh feeling was not fun at all. Anyway, I totally understand and can’t imagine going through all of that with Covid to top it off. Wishing you a safe easy happy birth.

It’s normal to worry before delivery! Try to relax! My sister is due on January 24 with her first. I’m going to forward her your video. She’s going through the same feelings. It’s a shame because we couldn’t be there for her wedding in may or her baby shower in October. We live in New Jersey and she lives in Nebraska. It’s been super lonely for her I’m sure. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. It’s probably will be a bit of a challenge juggling a toddler and a newborn, but believe me, any baby you have after that will be easier. Baby carriers are such a gift in the beginning months. Newborns loves being cocooned against their mommy. It will be understandable if after the birth we don’t see you for awhile. Very excited for you. Stay safe!
