Yeah, 'push through it' might work for some, but not everyone. I too am someone for whom it works best to pause a section of a project, relying on my perfectionism to remind to take it up again later. It's nice to see someone else with a non-linear process.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the completed mural. In no rush though, it's been nice to enjoy as an ongoing series.

This is what I do too. I find that it helps me to take a step back and appreciate what I’ve done and find flaws without overwhelming myself by trying to decide whether it looks right after a few hours of art blindness towards my own work. It is just like that trend of “what my art looks like to me vs other people who haven’t been torturing themselves over the details. I also work with my face really close to the art and have to physically step back sometimes to see what it looks like from a few feet away because the big picture gets lost when I spend too long on one detail and suddenly half of the painting is one style while the new addition has morphed into a different style 😅
