Bargain second-hand estate car? Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake review

preview_player
Показать описание
The Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake is a reasonably practical but incredibly stylish estate car, based loosely on the A-Class hatchback. As well as being a proper eye-catching design, it's a car that depreciates like a stone – making it a bit of a bargain on the used market. Join Tim Rodie for a full walkaround review, including a look at its cabin space, practicality as a family car, the driving experience and – crucially – whether a 1.3-litre engine makes sense in a reasonably big Merc.

I had shortlisted this car few years back but then read some users saying that the low ground clearance meant that the undercarriage was hitting most speed breakers

Good vehicle without too much "fat"( 250e curb weight 1683 kg) while C300e is over 2 tons!

It’s mad. I’ve got a new VW TROCC R-line DSG 1.5 on a lease and the list price is over £36k. This merc is value

If you want a proper Mercedes experience buy the C class, then you won't have hard scratchy plastic, crap build quality and a noisy cabin from the tyres.

I think we can all agree that the coupling of the words shooting brake is childish at best, and very patronising at worst.

Not sure about this one…it’s a compromise where you don’t need to make a compromise. If you want a pretty car, there are better options, if you want an estate, there are better options. If you want a pretty estate, there are better options.

It is very satisfying, even with the plasticy dashboard bits. Plus, it has knobs I can twist.
