Minerva McGonagal was a teacher in Hogwarts in 1945, when Dumbledore defeated Grindevald. (Source: Pottermore's Short Stories From Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies by J. K. Rowling). Which means, she was at least 20 by then. Actually she was already teaching at least 35 years before that, in 1910-s, when Newt Scamander was in Hogwarts (source: the Fantastic Beasts franchise, screenplay by J. K. Rowling). She must have been around 100 by 1991, when Harry went to Hogwarts. What is certain is that she is *not 56* in the story.
