The film centers on a group of friends led by Nick and his music studio partner, Duffy. One night at a party Duffy convinces everyone to go into their home studio and experiment with trace phenomena - a form of EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena).

When I date a guy, then pretty much every microsecond I spend together with him, he has his arm around me. Like, at the grocery store, on the train, waiting in line at the pharmacy or post office… it’s pretty much constant romance every moment of the day. Very realistic.

i don't even care about the less well made aspects because the two most important aspects (to me) for a horror film were present in this movie: the ideas portrayed AND the way it was portrayed. they were both captivatingly terrifying. i like it when a horror movie stimulates my imagination and makes me wonder about the possibilities of evil in the currently unknown aspects of reality. the more convoluted the lore, the better :D

regarding the lore being convoluted:
(it makes it more of a realistic possibility due to its intrinsic specificity and increases believability that the evil is rarely accessed/witnessed due to this complicated nature)
