Sony Alpha a5000

Sony has dropped "NEX" from their latest compact changeable lens digital camera called the Alpha A5000. It features a 20.1Mp Exmor APS-C size CMOS sensor coupled with Sony's new generation BIONZ X processor.

I had it, and used it in very bright sunlight, using a tripod and the remote control app from my smartphone, very comfortable option. I'm writing this in 2017 and the app has the zoom option now. The display has a sunlight bright adjust option, but you have to put off your sunglasses. Great camera for the price!

Just got this camera and the low light performance is actually pretty great! Especially paired with a tripod and the remote app.

I just got one of these last night. Im very happy with it. I wish it had a wheel for the settings like other cameras that are even lower end have, but its still not a big deal. Its easy to navigate through the settings menu. I paid $500 bucks. Not sure were people are finding it for $300? I do live in California though, were breathing air costs money. Great info here!

Looks like a good camera, I still don't get why Sony don't just put touch screens on their new cameras. so much easier to chose a focus point by clicking on it.

I have this camera.. I love photography and I love this camera. I got it in December as a birthday gift and I got a tripod along with it, however there are so many settings and stuff that it makes it hard to enjoy the camera fully. I know it can do more the. What I'm doing with it but I can't figure out how. I'm super impatient but need to learn how to work it like a pro.. Can you guys make a video on how to fully work it and mess with ALL the settings?

Just got this camera just very disappointed that the screen does not have any protection, yu cannot turn the screen inside, it only flip upward ..

If you intend on making videos with this camera you should know that there is a known overheating problem. It will shut down on you at around 10 or 15 minutes.... and quicker if you don't wait a good 10 minutes before filming again.
