Clearly one of the best unbiased deep dives into NIO.. Great video & thanks for sharing. Government policy regarding plates, and NIO is benefiting from subsidies being over the 300k RMB threshold because of battery swapping capabilities.. Chinese EV policy is very aggressive & NiO has been given a huge advantage because of it. NIO will replace all government Audi A6's Nation wide!!

I think if you guys continue to follow the NIO story it’s very interesting. They announced partnership with governments to provide NIO cars to government also expanding to Norway and delivering Cars this September. Looking forward to the Bull/Bear case! Enjoyed this! Thank you. PS the cars offers higher materials ( seats, interior design) compared to Tesla. And the CEO has said more than once that their focus is not the same market as Tesla but they are more interested in the Audi, BMW, Mercedes market.

Not to mention for the last couple years, Chinese people starting to buy more from local chinese brands, the perception of ‘International big names’ is changing for Chinese people. The trust for local brands is growing stronger and stronger. Just think about the internal needs in the future. This is just the start. Also need to consider the direction and strategies that the Chinese gov is heading to.

NIO is using a German manufacturer to make their cars now. They are building NIO Park in China as there main manufacturing plant. It will be able to make + 1M cars.

Ahh..just for this sort of industries'/companies' analysis when there should be a very high, say 60%, weightage to purely tailwinds in your analysis, your model does not work.

Tailwinds is underrated, moat is overrated. If you read about recent NIO's history and all that is going around with Chinese gov and EV industry and NIO, their future infra expansion plans, this was a low risk, strong buy!

The thought of driving a Chinese car gives me the creeps! They cheap out every industry they take over - their furniture is junk, clothing, housewares, you name it - I'll stick with German or british cars - as for the stock? meh.
