I have read several books and started a few series because of Booktube. Don't regret any of them. But the best so far has been Fifth Season by N K Jemisin. That is a pretty recent read, so have not had time yet to continue on in the series, but very excited to do so. I have also picked up the Psy-Changeling series because of you and Mara. I am about 1/4 of the way through Caressed by Ice. Totally hooked on this series.

I am so pumped to reread Broken Earth this summer! And I really liked Circe, even though nothing much happened I could not put it down. Also I think what you said about the Starless Sea and video games is cool, especially since I remember in an interview her talking about that being part of her inspiration. The Sword of Kaigen was the book booktube made me read that I almost didn’t read and it was a 5 star from the first page for me

So loved the Cerulean sea from seeing it on booktube. Also, Evelyn was one of my favorites as well!!!!

This is an amazing list of books! The Broken Earth trilogy is still one of the most unique trilogies I’ve ever read. I also love Becky Chambers work. Highly recommend her novella if you haven’t read it already!

Whew! So, so many great books because of booktube. I went from reading 17 books( in a good year) to close to 90. A few of my favs are Strange the Dreamer, Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, starting the Wheel of Time and I could start a whole other topic on books I BOUGHT because of Booktube, haha.
Several on your list I still need to read....eventually.

I'm relatively new to book tube, but I wanted to say that I used to feel the same way about Romance. I didn't hate it, but I did avoid it because I made unfair assumptions about its quality and value as a genre. Then I came across book tube, and your channel, along with some others, made me realize I was being narrow minded writing off all books in any given genre. Pure romance will likely never be my most favorite genre, but I will never again doubt that my next romance read has just as much of a chance of becoming an all-time favorite book. Thank you for sharing your opinions on so many different genres!

Definitely The Seven Husband's of Evelyn Hugo. I usually don't read that type of genre. Also just romance in general. I use to only read romance than for a very long time, I quit reading romance. Coming back to reading romance was definitely because of booktube. Hope you and your family have a great day 💗.

Definitely The Broken Earth Trilogy. I probably would not have heard of Laini Taylor and The Daughter of Smoke & Bone series or Leigh Bardugo with Six of Crows. I love, love, love these series so much. They are likely forever faves for me so I’m really happy to have been introduced to them through Booktube.

I've always wanted to read most of these books, especially Every Heart a Doorway and Starless Sea. I'm a *huge* fan of portal fantasies, especially deconstructions of them and always on the lookout for good examples.

Since the start of 2020, the majority of my reads are based on Booktube recommendations.
Booktube biggest influence is getting me into Fantasy, and to dip my toes in Romance.

Hi Bethany! I’m a new subscriber, and I really love the diversity of the books you read and your recommendations-you do a great job!

With Evelyn Hugo, would you say it is like Daisy Jones and the Six? When you were describing how Evelyn feels like a real person and how the book is in interview format, it made me think of Daisy Jones, even though Daisy is not a romance.

Same! I used to have this stereotypical opinion on the romance genre, but now no more! I grow to like it more and more especially last year when the pandemic hit us hard. And yes, part of it is because of your recommendations.🤣

I love the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! One of my favorite series! Legendborn is also a book I picked up because of booktube. I don't think I would have picked it up if not for booktube, the cover just didn't really call to me at first, but I've grown to like it, and I loved this book so much. So glad booktube made me get this one. It did give me those shadowhunter vibes, and the shadowhunter books are some of my absolute favorites. The Poppy War is on my tbr. I still have a hard time getting into the romance genre unless it's a paranormal romance or fantasy romance. I really can't do contemporary romances.
