I feel like my videos just keep getting longer and longer...so I don't blame ya if you didn't finish the video 😅. It's a long one, but grateful that you took the time to watch whatever length! This is just me on a big ramble and recap about how my 2024 LAM weekend and race went.

TLDR: Things didn't go as planned and another below expectation outcome, but another step forward was made and one of my favorite marathon races I've been a part of with all the cheering. Also...I need to get along with my bowels a bit more 😐.

Onward to another attempt! I aint stoppin! Fun fact: my middle name is Wing Lam, which is from the Cantonese rominization of my Chinese name is 馬永霖 (Ma-Wing- Lam). So I'm pretty much to born to run the LAM 🤪.

Wonderful recap. Keep your head up not a lot of people can finish a marathon at 3 hours. The bond with your brother is amazing you are blessed to have him. Keep up the great work.

I think your training was great brother. I believe the sub 3 is there on a flat course. Don’t be discouraged brother keep going!

Thanks for sharing all your experience Alvin 👍🏼 LA course is just a whole different level, being that close is something to be proud of 🙌🏼🙌🏼. Choose a marathon (Long Beach, OC, Mountain2Beach) “easier” and you’ll definitely get that Sub3. Again, nice seeing you for a brief 3 seconds 😆 at the end. Keep your head up 💪🏼.

Really enjoy your channel. Your vlogs are like watching Kofuzi when he was first starting out and was at his best. You'll get your sub 3- you're almost there. Thanks for taking us along on your running journey.

Outstanding race recap. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. You ran an amazing race!! Especially with the stomach issues. Good luck with your next race.

A PR with stomach issues is something to be proud of. That type of perseverance will pay off in the long run. Not hitting your goal isn't everything. You came really close. With the challenges you faced in this race, you have to know that goal is well within your grasp. You're race learning recap at the end showed that. Take those to heart. Make your improvements for the next one and you got this. You have got a great support network too. They will help you get there. Charge on Alvin! 💪You got this!

Nice ramble recap, and def didn't feel like too long of a ramble to me. Fun to know about that bottle claw car cup holder technique 🍼. Sending wishes that your next marathon be less poopy.

I really like this race recap because I love hearing every details from race day. You remember a lot!! It’s like taking us back in time. And it took a lot of mental focus to keep your body running so fast when you didn’t feel well! And I saw the work you put in before LAM, I saw your fitness leveled up. no time or effort was wasted at all. Race and learn, and you will get it at the next race 😊

You absolutely have the fitness, LA marathon is a tough course. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Check out the Las Vegas marathon (inaugural year) if you're still looking for end of year races.

Yooo Alvin, congrats on a solid performance. Holy cow you crushed it bro. Great recap! I think you hooked me up with a water cup in the early miles. I was pacing and was crowded by runners. Was that you?

It was good to meet you this morning, you were flying!! I have a friend who ran around 1 minute faster than you at LA and he ran Carlsbad in around 2:56 and surf city around 2:57, both out and back courses. So I think your performance at LA is equivalent to a sub 3 at one of those races.

Congrats on the race!!! I was there too; finished MINUTES in front of the 5:15 pacer and my time ended up being exactly 5:15. It was kind of frustrating for me too, so I get it. I’m so proud of you!!!
