Many people in Leh in northern India are too scared to leave their home at night because of the number of rabid dogs on the streets.

I was nearly attacked in India by stray dogs for simply walking past their territory.. even as I backed away their snarling jaws were growling at me as they edged closer towards me late at night.. Very scary it was.. during the day they are fine.

The reason is that the native Vultures have almost gone extinct. 30 years ago, the vultures were everywhere and consumed dead carcasses. Due to medicines used in cows, millions of vultures have died overnight and the dogs have moved in.

Here in my place in India, all of the street dogs are my friends.. 20-30 of them.. Friendship with dogs takes almost nothing..Just a biscuit or certain kinds of playful sounds..

The best way to solve stray animals problem in India is to export them all to China. This would not only solve the problem of enormous expenses incurred by the municipalities of various cities towards feeding a huge population of feral creatures but it would reduce the chances of humans being attacked or bitten by animals.

I'm a dog lover. Loving them has destroyed my life. I am in the middle of a long, costly legal battle here in the US to change their rights. I am at wit's end. My dog was murdered by a veterinarian who beat dogs to death with a hammer. But, even after all of that, I believe the people of India have a right to their streets at night. Something needs to be done. A drastic, one-time, military-guided cull. These dogs shown here are clearly feral and aggressive.

The aggressive ones need to be put down without a doubt because they will attack humans, other dogs, and can push what would be a non aggressive dog into one. The reason dogs are typically human friendly is because we breed the aggression out of them and raised them by our sides allowing the friendly passiveness to be dominant, if they are just free roaming and breeding themselves then of course the strongest and more aggressive are going to start out breeding and killing the friendlier dogs and even going for humans.

This won’t be a popular opinion, but given the rabies epidemic in India, these dogs need to be mass euthanized. This is a huge health concern. 30 million dogs can easily become 200 million dogs.

Solution: Bring the Chinese, Vietnamese and Ilocanos. They will make Asocena out of those dogs.

Reminds me of that part in Shantaram where Lin and the boy get attacked by a pack of dogs and the great Abdullah Taheri come out of nowhere and helps them beat the dogs.
