We chatter on this Discord server:

Video series programming a chess engine in C

I had some upload problems, hopefully all is ok now!

I've added ads, as it seems it's the only way to appear in searches!

I'm sorry a 70+ video seriesdetailing Chess Program AI no longer meets your expectations after part 8. YouTube never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for watching.

This series is great. As a JS dev, my limited knowledge of C has probably quadrupled since the first video.

Personally, I think this video series is awesome. I've been looking for something to cut my teeth on with programming, and this seems like just the thing.

Thanks for making it!

Hey,
new to coding here. I’m doing a study on your chess engine by remaking it and adding subtle changes to better understand it.
Printing the bit board was a lot of fun to play around with.
Love your content. You’ve earned a sub :)

I have a question: why do we need the 120 int array if we are implementing a bitboard?

I'm new in programming and sorry if this question will sound dumb.

Great series, i think this is just what I was searching for. Often wondered how people make engines for the most beautiful game there is. I have one question however: I copied to the letter everything you wrote down, but I keep getting wrong output for PrintBitBoard: in the initialization it correctly displays an empty board, but after i add one pawn to *any* square, it writes X-es on every square. I'm not using GCC for writing the engine, but VC 2013.

Im asking, even though i know i will not get any answer... But who knows??

How does this method apply to a 10 by 10 board?

Well, I think I've seen enough. It's a very nice video series and certainly worth watching, but sadly, it's not what I've been looking for. I was hoping for a much more bitboard centric approach and this doesn't seem to be it. I any case I'll keep on looking, but still thanks for the great effort.

I have a question: Will Vice work on a 32 bit CPU?
Will you reply?

You choose to be offended, which saddens me, but it's your and your problem alone.
I didn't criticize you in the least, I simply pointed out that this was not what I need.
I could watch +70 videos to definitively make that conclusion, but I chose not to, because as of part 8, it seemed pretty clear that what I was searching for was not this. Plain and simple.
It is of course your right to take offence, though I haven't got a clue why, and it seems rather silly.
Also, I will watch it all in time.
