Sky Hymn - Lyric Video

Показать описание
"Sky Hymn" is a worship song inspired by the sky at different stages of the day (morning, mid-day, evening, night).
From time to time I’ve thought that it must be easier to write songs when you live somewhere lush, or mountainous, or oceanside. Central Texas can sometimes feel a bit sparse in that sense. But, I’m also fond of saying that “the landscape of Texas is the sky”. With Sky Hymn, I tried to draw on the inspiration that God has laid out for us right here where we live.
I love the idea that the Maker of nature, who continues to orchestrate all of existence, cares and guides us in some of the same ways. Just as He warms the day with the rising sun, He warms our hearts with His kept promises. Just as He shepherds clouds across the sky, He leads us to follow His law and love His leading. In each verse, I tried to imagine the sky at a different time of day, and then turn those moments into a prayer for God to do the same for us.
The chorus ties together the two ideas (nature and us) with ideas from Romans 11:36, “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever!” …as well as Colossians 1:16-17 “…all things have been created through him and for him… in him all things hold together.”
LYRICS:
Waker of the dawn's redeeming rays
Rising with the sound of nature's hymn
We have passed through night to seek Your face
Warm us with each promised mercy giv'n
Shepherd of the hills of day-blue sky
Guiding flocks of cloud up heaven's stair
Lead us in the paths of law's delight
Still our souls with whispers of Your care
Surely from, surely through
Surely to You nature sings
Surely from, surely through
Surely to You are all things
Bringer of the balm of eventide
Soothing breeze to cool the heat of day
Heal us from this shame that burns inside
Hide us in the shadows of Your grace
Surely from, surely through
Surely to You nature sings
Surely from, surely through
Surely to You are all things
Light of Life that lit the moon and stars
Silvering the crouching hours of night
Hold us by Your side when hope departs
In our every darkness be our light
Surely from, surely through
Surely to You nature sings
Surely from, surely through
Surely to You are all things
Waker of the dawn's redeeming rays
Rising with the sound of nature's hymn
We have passed through night to seek Your face
Warm us with each promised mercy giv'n
