A video tutorial on how to replace the cabin filter on a 2012 - 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan

Cabin AC air filters help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle, creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the Dodge Grand Caravan passenger compartment location.

The A/C air filter in the Dodge Grand Caravan is located in the fresh air inlet behind the glove compartment. Perform the following procedure to replace the filter:
1. Open the glove compartment and remove all contents.
2. Push in on the sides of the glove compartment, remove tether and lower the door.
3. Pivot the glove compartment downward.
4. Disengage the two retaining tabs that secure the filter cover to the HVAC housing, and remove the cover.
5. Remove the A/C cabin air filter by pulling it straight out of the housing.
6. Install the A/C cabin air filter with the arrow on the filter pointing toward the floor. When installing the filter cover, make sure the retaining tabs fully engage the cover.
7. Rotate the glove compartment door back into position and reinstall tether

WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR DODGE CARAVAN?
It is recommended that you replace your Grand Caravan cabin AC air filter every 10,000 - 15,000 miles or once a year.

However, you may want to replace or change the cabin filter more often if:
-You or a frequent passenger suffers from allergies
-You or a frequent passenger has other respiratory problems
-You drive your Grand Caravan on dirt roads or in excessively dusty conditions
-You drive your Grand Caravan in heavily polluted areas

Thank you. My damper cord button was stuck in the hole and before forcing it out with a screw driver, I pulled in the sides of the glove box and the glove box dropped down just enough to be able to get the filter cover/door off and replace the filter, cover, and return the glove box to the upright position, Left the damper cord in place. Not as much working space as with the glove box farther out of the way, but doable.

I have a 2016, and the Configuration of the glove box was a little different, but your video here certainly helped me figure out how to do it.
Sad thing is I had spent an hour going through the manual looking for this information. It tells me absolutely nothing about it in the manual.
I think it’s a terrible shame that I can find better information on YouTube that I can get from the manufacturer of my vehicle.
