I was able to do it differently, if you put the accumulator next to the window near the purple gateway, it drops higher, not blocked by the blue beam, it falls back down, but by the time it is down it is charged red, allowing you to continue.

I figured this out yesterday and thought I had stumbled onto some weird out of the box solution because it's not solved like any other puzzle in the game. I guess that's how it's meant to be solved though. 😂
