I am so grateful for Suzanne! I used to weigh 367lbs. I am now around 142-144lbs. I have lost 225lbs. Been maintaining this weight loss for over 10yrs now. Food ruled my life. I was crazy around food. For 4yrs straight I had 2 big mac value meals super size daily plus all other junk food too.

The toughest part is when your family, friends and doctors aren't supportive, glad this issue was included,

For me, Suzanne was the first speaker on health theory that seemed to come from a more relatable approach. I definitely appreciate those with the strong academic and scientific backgrounds, but I definitely enjoyed seeing somebody (also a woman!) who made these changes from a vulnerable place of wanting to grow, and talked about the realities and the struggles of creating their healthy lifestyle.

I’m so happy for her, and I’m sure she’s inspiring thousands of people.

I love how she said people think not eating rice, pasta and bread is a huge sacrifice. However, sabotaging your future and goals just to have those food for pleasure is the real sacrifice. That was so deep for me almost made me cry. Cause I've been the before. Still on my journey on building a new me. Fit and mentally strong me. 😍
Lost 4kg and gained more love for myself not because I lost weight but because I am putting me first.

Suzanne...your story resonates with me in so many ways! I, as probably many have had ALL of those thoughts, feelings and emotions. Thank you for your testimony/story. Love it....on Keto since Jan 2nd, 2019 and was about to do the bypass surgery but decided to do this instead. High blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. :( I do feel so much better already. :) Thx so much! Feeling more encouraged.

I can really relate to having to 'get myself there' some days. I am committed to being healthy and happy, and enjoying my life fully. When I wobble/fall down I don't let myself stay there long. SOmetimes I over-dramatize my negative feelings in music or video, then see the patterns and drive forward.

Just now starting this, but based on just the title, as someone who battles with food addiction, I have an assumption this episode is going to be insanely helpful!

21:30 Reason #462 is such a real concern of mine.

I don't know how to maneuver around a lot of topics. I have my own biases based on my experiences and where I currently am in life and I don't want to guide my children wrong.

On the other hand I am a parent and not a source of all known knowledge. I don't want my children to think I am the only source to truth but I can offer them my stories and thought processes and retrospect and let them choose for themselves what is best for them because they will have to be the ones to make their own decisions.

I love what suzanne said that she realized it was not the losing of weight that will be the "instant fix" for her and that everything's gonna be okay. but it was the battle of feelings that she's not good enough and she was still judging herself.

I like the ideas of:
"retraining your thoughts to change your way of thinking"
"it's okay to be scary and just keep on."

I like how suzanne wants to serve by starting where they are because she's been there before.

"You can't expect someone to come and save you.
You have to save yourself."

Great episode!

For me personally it was 100% Keto. When I have zero carbs for breakfast and lunch my hunger disappears. Years ago Atkins didn't work for me because I was not getting enough potassium and other essential minerals. I supplement potassium and use the low sodium salt which is 50% potassium along with the Sodium. I intentionally eat most of my carbs for dinner so that the insulin bounce doesn't come until after I am asleep.

Keto didn't offer me any of the effects that other's claim, therefore I didn't like it. For ME. That said, I did appreciate her words about her journey & different mental aspects of it. I also like that she isn't pushy about keto. I also think of diets as tools to help you along the way. At first I was apprehensive about listening to this video concerning keto, but I'm happy I did. I liked listening to her. Even for non keto people there's lessons to learn. Thank you for sharing! 😊

For me the Aha moment came when I learned that the way out bodies are designed goes completely against the "guidelines". I started researching why we have cravings and once I learned that I realized why I needed to change. On top of that the fact that our emotions are controlled by our microbiom and learning that eating well actually makes you feel better mentally than those foods that only make you feel good in the moment.
