Many ask their Priest or Pastor if speaking in Tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is needed to be Saved and they say something like, "Definitely not." Or they think something like, "I don't think I want to get involved with that speaking in Tongues type thing, that's a little too weird and hardcore for me." They say that because they don't know about the following scriptures, or have ignored them. Please note the information below is not taught at any Catholic or Protestant Church, nor is it taught at any Catholic or Protestant Seminary School, or at any Catholic or Protestant Divinity School.
The following is some word for word scriptures about speaking in Tongues as the Spirit gives utterance:
Jesus said in Mark 16:17, "And these signs shall follow them that believe, In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES."
Acts 2:3-4, (Pentecost), "And it appeared to unto them cloven TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST, and they began TO SPEAK WITH OTHER TONGUES as the SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE."
Acts 8:14-17, "Now when the apostles, which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John. 15 Who when they were come down, prayed for them that they MIGHT RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST. 16 For as yet he was fallen upon none of them, only they were BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. 17 Then LAID THEY THEIR HANDS ON THEM and they RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST."
Acts 9:17-18, (Paul's baptism) "And Ananias went his way and entered into the house, and PUT HIS HANDS ON HIM and said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto you in the way as you came, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, AND BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes that as it had been scales, he received his sight forthwith, and arose, and was BAPTIZED."
Acts 10:44-48, (Peter speaking to Cornelius and those with him), "While Peter yet spake these words, THE HOLY GHOST FELL ON THEM which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that on the Gentiles also was poured out the GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. 46 For they heard them SPEAK WITH TONGUES and magnify God, and then answered Peter. 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be BAPTIZED, which have received the HOLY GHOST as well as we. 48 And he commanded them to be BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD."
In Acts 19:1-6, Paul met 12 believers in Ephesus and asked them, 2 Have you received the Holy Ghost since you BELIEVED? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were you baptized? And they said unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. 6 And when Paul LAID HIS HANDS ON THEM, the Holy Ghost came on them, and they SPOKE WITH TONGUES and prophesied." Those scriptures prove that just because a person is a believer does not mean they are automatically saved, and just because a person is a believer does not mean they automatically have the Holy Ghost.
Jesus said in John 7:38-39, "He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly SHALL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATER. 39 But this he spoke of the SPIRIT, which they that believe on him should receive, for the HOLY GHOST was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified."
Paul said in Galatians 1:12 that he was not taught by any man, but was taught by Jesus himself, which means that everything Paul said was exactly what Jesus told him to say.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:2, "He that SPEAKS IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE EDIFIES HIMSELF...."
Paul said that Jesus said in 1 Corinthians 14:21, "In the law it is written, With men of other TONGUES and other lips will I speak unto this people, and yet for all that, THEY WILL NOT HEAR ME, saith the Lord." Verse 39 says, "Wherefore brethren, covet to prophesy, AND FORBID NOT TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES."
The following scriptures prove that when a person speaks with tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, it is at that moment the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in them:
Paul said in Galatians 3:27, "For as many of you as have been BAPTIZED into Christ HAVE PUT ON CHRIST."
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:22, "Wherefore TONGUES are for a SIGN (or PROOF they received the Holy Ghost)...."
Paul said in Romans 8:11, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies BY HIS SPIRIT THAT DWELLS IN YOU." That is referring to being raised up to meet Jesus in the air at the Rapture which is referred to in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, which Paul also wrote. If a person has not been baptized in Jesus Name, meaning Jesus Name is invoked at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:17-18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16 - which all of those WERE FOR THE REMISSION OF SIN, (Acts 2:38) and has not been baptized with Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit, they will not have that Spirit that will allow them to meet Jesus in the air at the Rapture, and therefore not be Saved. All the above is exactly what Jesus meant in John 3:7, "You MUST be born again." In John 3:5 he said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God." Regarding Baptism - Jesus said in Mark 16:16, "He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned." There Jesus links not being baptized with damnation. Being born of water is being immersed in water (baptized) in Jesus Name, being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost.
If you are convinced you need to get Baptized in water in Jesus Name and get Baptized with the Holy Ghost, do a search, type in "United Pentecostal Church International", scroll slightly down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, then a screen will show a Church nearest you that will do that. If you do all of the above you will be making SURE your name is written in the Lamb's Book Of Life. .
No Catholic Church will do it because they condemn water baptism in Jesus Name and declared it INVALID in the New Catholic Encyclopedia Volume 2, page 66, the Catholic Encyclopedia, also in Catholic Catechism 232, 233, and 1226-1284, and also in Chapter 7 of the 16 chapter Catholic Didache. No Protestant Church will do it because they teach water baptism is not needed, but Jesus said in Mark 16:16, "He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be saved, but he believes not shall be damned. "They also say baptism was not done in Jesus Name, and that it is a "Outer sign of an inner change", but all of the above proves it MUST be done in Jesus Name. Some say the Thief on the Cross next to Jesus was not baptized but Jesus told him he would be with Him that day in Paradise. Jesus had not given the COMMANDMENT to be Baptized in water in His Name until after he rose from the dead and just before He ascended into heaven. The Thief or anyone else at that time could not have done it because they did not know about it.
Jesus said in John 10:37, " My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Excellent teaching ! This is the first time I've heard a minister point out that there is a difference between the gift of speaking in tongues that is accompanied by a believer with the gift of interpretation of tongues for the edification of a church assembly and the first evidence that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and the believers prayer language for individual edification.
Technically, the initial evidence and prayer language don't qualify as one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to Pauls' definition of the gifts because they don't edify the church assembly.

I have been filled with the Holy Ghost for almost 33 years. To the best of my knowledge, I have never spoken in tongues. And I have been told that I don't have the Holy Ghost then.. I know I have the Holy Ghost because I was changed and have never been the same. God has kept me for more than 32 years, and I love Him. When I was 18 years old, God called me by name, and told me He loves me. And the following year, I was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins, and not many days following, I was filled with the Holy Ghost. I cried to God for a night until the morning: and in the morning, God filled me with the Holy Ghost. My heart breathed in pure love. There is no mistaking the pureness and comfort of Christ Jesus. So what does 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 mean then if everyone should have the gift of tongues? Doesn’t everyone have a different gift with different function in the body of Christ?

This gives me deeper understanding. This baffles me much. I hear the tongues utterances i heard from a majority of people are similar, almost the same. And my question is, 1)why does my tongue utterance sounds different? Almost like a language and with intonation. The fact is i can almost make out the meaning, because i understood the prayer even when i dont know the language. It became profound several months after i began to speak in tongues; which in itself surprises and confuses me(alone praying). I really hope to know the answer. It was also how i found this channel 4years ago, yet it still doesn't gives me understanding in regards to the matter.
2)Do people speak in tongues while sleeping? Well, prior to my speaking in tongue, I started waking up at night realizing i was speaking/murmuring/groaning but i dont understand.

Good day Pastor. In Gal. 1:8 it says there whatever you teach/preach it should be biblical. Now the question is, can we find these in the Bible, Personal Tongue, Proof Tongue, and Prophetic Tongue? Because as Gal. 1:8 stated, "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
