Good info, I change my oil and air filter in my car. I've also changed the radiator fluid. Save on electricity using power strips and turning them off at night and unplug things you don't use often like the blender. Wear a sweater in the house during the winter and turn down the thermostat.

Go to a local Janitorial Supply Company & buy a 50# box of laundry detergent.  Use the soak cycle on your washing machine & use 1/2 the detergent called for.  Get a gallon concentrate cleaner at the JSC that you mix with water & put in a spray bottle.  It is professional strength & works great.  Both of those will last a long time.   The JSC also has great brooms, mops, paper towels, etc, all much better quality than what u get at a grocery store.

I just saved about $20 by noticing some oregano growing randomly in between yards no one wanted. I picked it and plan to dry it. Buying fresh herbs can cost a lot and dried herbs. although cheaper, still cost you. Amazingly, herbs like this will be perennial or reseed every year and come back, making them easy to grow. Look around for forgotten fruit trees, pick and freeze that fruit, same with wild berries.

don't use central heat or air. use window air or space heaters and only in the room you are occupying...saves a ton $$!!

Thanks for great ideas. Yes, you do need to look into your bills every month if it seems different. I've had that same thing happen. Also another tip about home ins., call the company every year and go over everything. One time they had me down for a reg. fireplace and I had a gas, made a big difference.

Starbucks is ridiculas. I just don't understand how 5-7 bucks became the norm for a cup of coffee.
Buy a vintage copper bottom "RevereWare" percolator and ground starbucks coffee by the bag. Old fashioned perked coffee is AWSOME

Save 40-50% on your power bill by turning off your water heater. Just turn it on 30 minutes before a shower then back off and you'll have warm water the rest of the day for your other needs. I turn it off at the circuit breaker.

On items that you buy in stores I find much better deals in the physical store than online. As an example I just bought an $80 pillow at Bed Bath & Beyond for $8. Now mind you I don't think any pillow is worth $80 even if it is a good quality pillow goose down fill it's been really comfortable but still wouldn't pay $80. But $8 is still cheap for a pillow. That's just one example. The reason why it was so low was because it had been marked down 50% and then it was clearance of 75% off of that and then I had a 20% off coupon. Bed Bath & Beyond coupons never expire by the way even though they do have an expiration date on them.
